This page will post trades that I have made recently and my thinking behind them. This may be an eye opener for newbies frightened to get burned. Have no fear, and believe in what you know. Remember most trades don't have a winner and a loser, but two teams that end up winning from making a deal that helps both sides. l
Looking at this trade one would assess correctly that it is quite even... I am pointing this trade out for two reasons: One, it is a trade that I made appealing to one of another managers needs' (in this case a good QB, McNabb), I am giving away a position in which I am abundant in (I had Warner, O'Sullivan and him). A stud like McNabb should not sit on someone's bench, instead trade him for a position of your need. Second, I am using two players to acquire one better player, which "upgrades" one position on your roster significantly, while at the same time gives you an empty roster spot that can be used to pick up the next fantasy gem.
Right now is the time to buy low on MJD, and Winslow. The Browns are going to make a change somewhere and not at TE. When that happens, they WILL CLICK and Braylon, Jamal, and Kellen will see a sunnier side of production, making up for poor weeks lost. Don't expect a pro-ration of last years totals though, 16 TD's for a receiver not named Randy or Jerry is a rarity, if not impossible to expect. Expect Winslow to get some extra looks in the Red Zone because defense's clearly are keying in on Edwards. Anderson has been awful, but there is another man named Brady...
Santana Moss is off to a career start, and its only a matter of time before D's catch up with him. When they do, he will still get his yards and some TD's, but with this start you have to sell high. Ronnie Brown had a 5 TD game, but has yet to be effective in any other formation other than their goal-line package that featured both him and Williams, set as the QB and RB, respectively. With Ricky looming, only a year removed from a serious surgery, and a team that before last Sunday would practically roll over for you... I see Ronnie's 5 TD game as perfect bait for someone enamored by it, ignoring his value on a week to week basis.
