Draft Strategies

I like going for the unestablished players, or oft overlooked veterans that are capable of producing at a very high level if all goes right. Drafting players like these in the later rounds are your best bet because they have higher "ceilings" than players that have less potential but have proven a steady level of mediocrity. You are drafting for potential here, hoping to see a player's upside  realized. At worse, you will end up dropping a late-round draft pick that didn't break out for another who is, or might turn out to be through a roster pick-up.

In Head-to-Head Basketball Leagues, the best way to go is to see how the draft unveils and take the best player available through the first three or four rounds. With such a large and talented pool of players available at the beginning of the draft it does not make sense to start worrying about filling certain positions or stat-categories. Basically, you want to get the most value out of your picks when value is at it's most sensitive point. The next few rounds (4-7), I try and fill needs by position and look for potential weaknesses I have in certain stat categories that I may need to bolster.
